I am so lucky for all that I have, and I look for ways to give back, but it is when I see a child that I think might be suffering or in need that I get weepy. I agree with Joy--in situations like those trust your instinct. If it tells you to run--do it. If it tells you to help--even if it is just asking if you can do anything, trust it! YOu are such a good hearted person--if the world were filled with more of you and less of others we would be better off!Hillaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16807715661422414314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298993020461245577.post-28704257959224318162009-08-26T08:14:07.416-05:002009-08-26T08:14:07.416-05:00Oops...hit the button before I was done. I agree with "Yo-Mama" about parents would be blessed by anything you gave them even if they were rich. We get blessed by blessing others.Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08337031374544923218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298993020461245577.post-22910112663189095692009-08-26T08:11:33.208-05:002009-08-26T08:11:33.208-05:00It is hard to know what to do...but when God lays ...It is hard to know what to do...but when God lays in on our hearts...we must obey...EVEN if that $.69 goes to secure that next fix.Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08337031374544923218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298993020461245577.post-56512422725235458982009-08-25T08:44:58.396-05:002009-08-25T08:44:58.396-05:00This is why I throw change in the bottom of my pur...This is why I throw change in the bottom of my purse instead of putting it all away. Dig down there without opening your purse, let God decide how much you can find to give away at that moment.
Your heart told you what to do. Your head changed your mind.
As far as insulting a man who is trying to not get arrested for pandering and still find someone charitable enough to save your children-Take a risk. 99% of parents, even if they were dripping with riches would appreciate your generosity and kindness.
Give, Give, Give and all those who say those people are just going to use it on drugs or they are looking for the easy way out are judging situations they know nothing about. Even if it's true-what is the worst that happened. You gave away .69 that you were going to spend on a slurpy that you were going to complain about having to exercise off.
The reason you wrote the blog is BECAUSE you didn't follow your heart.
You have a great heart. Last night at The Well, the speaker talked about intimacy with the Lord, and basically about listening to His voice not only in the big things, but in all the little things. Little things that don't even seem to matter sometimes. It was such a challenging message - to be that close with the Lord that I hear His voice always. It's on my mind bigtime. You have such a tender heart - that's a wonderful thing. Love you.Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13031196339428485824noreply@blogger.com
