head case

Isaac had his 4 month check up last Friday. He is in the 90th percentile for weight (17 lbs. 4 ozs.), over the 95th for height (27 1/2"), in the 75th for head size. He's excelling in all developmental categories and is healthy as...I don't know...a really healthy person.

As far as his head is concerned...it's still a wee bit lopsided. I mean a tiny wee bit. If you are standing directly above him
sometime between 5:02 and 5:04pm on the eve of a perfect lunar eclipse with your head cocked at a 12 degree angle and your eyes squinted just so, you might notice how the right side of his forehead protrudes slightly more than the left and the back left side juts out slightly more than the right. But it's just wanky enough that us egotistical, shallow, perfectly round head-loving parents want to have him evaluated to see if a helmet is a reasonable solution.

We have an appointment with the helmet people tomorrow, and we'll find out if our po' little ol' Evans child will have to sport a very expensive accessory over the holidays. It will be unfortunate if our beautiful, near perfect baby will have to spend his first Christmas in a helmet, and certainly a little blow to the ego. But honestly, I'm more disappointed that he may not be able to wear cute stocking caps for the next couple of months...unless we buy XL-sized adult caps and just stretch them over the top...hm, I think I'm onto something...
