Alex...

...can't understand why he has to wait patiently for dinner to cook and then wait patiently for it to cool down again before he can eat it. I can't say I blame him.
...has a great imagination.

...LOVES crispbread crackers smeared with goat cheese and strawberry preserves. And yes, I am aware of how pretentious that sounds.
...calls goat cheese "moose cheese". Probably because it sounds less pretentious.

...likes to tell stories.
...starts most of his stories with, "Once upon a time there was a little boy named Alex and he was very smart".
...almost always tells stories that involve a little boy named Alex, trains, bodily functions, and/or "crashing and bashing".

...loves his brother.
...is a great big brother.

...loves to push his brother around the house in his walker.
...should work in the quality control department of Chicco's baby walker division.
...calls Isaac's walker a "walkie" and it cracks me up.
...is 3 going on 13.

...hates loud noises. Unless he is the one making them.

...just told me that Frankenstein lives in California.
...thinks that, "Please hurry," really means, "Please go as slow as humanly possible."
...thinks that, "Please be quiet," really means, "Please make as much noise as humanly possible."

...is obsessed with letters and numbers.
...can sound out most words.
...especially loves the letter A, the number 3, and the color blue.
...asks a lot of questions.
...always leaves a plethora of toys in his wake.

...still loves trains.

...has "hard-to-manage" hair.

...wears hair product every day. (Schwarzkopf Got 2B Glued spiking glue, in case you're wondering...)

...is always up for a picnic.
...believes picnics are more fun in pajamas (preferably mismatched ones).

...believes that everything tastes better with ranch dressing. This includes hot dogs, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and Pop-Tarts. Yes, I said Pop-Tarts.

...totally scored at Target's post-Halloween sales.

...can be difficult.

...is the goofiest kid I know.

...is the sweetest kid I know.

...is already teaching his brother bad habits.

...often tells me he loves me and really seems to mean it.

...likes shrimp.
...is often referred to as a "really polite" boy.
...has decided napping is no longer for him. His mother has decided that psychiatric meds might be for her.

...loves books.
...would sit and listen for as long as someone was willing to read to him.
...has limitless energy.

...likes to end sentences with nonsensical rhymes, e.g. "Time to go to bed, Ned!" or "Let's play another game, dame!"
...prefers greeting cards that play obnoxious songs. Poppo, we'll be bringing this one to Christmas, and Alex is sitting by you.

...thinks it's hilarious to change the lyrics of songs to random silly words.
...would play with his Smart Cycle for hours at a time.

...would play with his Lightning McQueen laptop for hours at a time.

...is a miniature version of his mother. Lord help us all.

Isaac...

...is five months and four days old.
...has a nervous habit of pulling on his belly skin.
...is always ready for a close-up.

...is trying hard to sit up.
...can sit up in his Bumbo seat.

...moves his walker around the house.

...might like the jumperoo even more than Alex did. And that's a lot.

...is one cool cat.

...has been rolling from his belly to his back for over a couple months.

...tries to roll from his back to his belly six hundred times a day and has succeeded twice.
...wants to anything his brother is doing.

...has to be subjected to neck-stretching exercises 5 times a day.

...will officially have to wear a helmet.

...loves bedtime.
...loves bathtime. I think it's because it's one step closer to bedtime.

...is happiest when he's around people.

...is a good sport.

...loves to be outside.

...looks for airplanes when he hears them fly overhead.

...is fascinated by wind blowing through the trees and rustling the leaves.

...is a Hogs fan, even though he doesn't know it yet.

...wears diapers that look like jeans.

...rubs his face when he is tired.
...can almost feed himself.

...has catcher's mitts for hands.
...has Shar-Peis for legs.

...has discovered his feet. And likes 'em a lot.

...has discovered his dog. And likes him a lot.

...enjoys playing with toys.
...is a Mama's Boy, but likes everyone else, too.
...is starting to get his hair back. Too bad his helmet's going to rub it all off again.

...does things that Alex never did. Like fall asleep.

...exhibits many characteristics of a teething baby. Except for teeth.

...is only goin' to church, but he's still gonna look good.
