Chicago: heading home

Finally, it was time to head back home. Mom and Dad had bought a carseat for Alex, so it was great to have them chauffeur us around all weekend, especially when it was time to head to the airport. No muss, no fuss, they just let us off at the front doors and in we went. After sad goodbyes, of course. A is the most pitiful little thing when it comes to saying bye to his grandparents, with his pouty lip and tears and wailing of the grandparents' names...

Nonetheless, we made it to our gate in plenty of time and had some breakfast by the window so we could watch the planes take off.

And here's A showing just how that works:

We got on our plane shortly thereafter and headed home. The whole trip was smooth as can be, and we were so grateful for flights that were on time and a well-behaved 2 year old.
