The boys had their well-kid check ups with the pediatrician this morning and both passed with flying colors.
Alex had his 3 year check up, which meant I had to fill out an "Ages & Stages" questionnaire about his development. For example, it asked whether he was able to use 3 to 4 word sentences and to provide an example of what he might say. I just wrote the first thing I heard Alex say to Grammy after I read that question, which was, "I put the cup in the sink after I peed in it!" His favorite thing about this visit was peeing in a cup. In fact, he had to pee a second time while we were there and insisted that we take another specimen cup with us to the bathroom so he could pee in it. His second favorite thing was doing the drawing tests on the questionnaire, where I was asked to draw simple shapes and have Alex try to copy them. He sketched the lines and circles with ease and asked for something harder.
By then, the doc had showed up to look him over. It seems that, other than the nasty patches of eczema on his wrists and elbows, he is in perfect health. He weighs 33 pounds and is 37 1/2" tall, which puts him in the 50th percentile for both categories, which was exactly what I expected to hear based on how he seems to "measure up" to his classmates and friends.
When Isaac's turn rolled around, he got a quick once over before the kind doc covered him in his blanket so he wouldn't freeze. He is doing great, weighing in at 9lbs. 15ozs. and measuring 22.5in. long, which puts him in the 50th percentile for weight and the 85th for height.
Isaac will have another check up at 2 months, so hopefully things will continue to go as smoothly as they have so far. Thank the Lord for healthy boys!
