Timothy had his first day of work today, and we had big plans to get up and have breakfast as a family, then see Daddy off at 7:45 since we wouldn't see him for the rest of the day. But Alex totally blew the plans by sleeping in until 9 o'clock, well past the time that his daddy left for work. Yes, you read that correctly. My child slept until 9 o'clock in the morning.
Since we started this new one nap schedule, he has been going to bed right at 7pm and waking up sometime between 7:30 and 8, which has been a great since he used to get up around 7. This morning was a complete shock, however. I'd love it if he kept this schedule because then I'd have time to get a shower in the morning and get a few things done before he gets up. However, that also means that he won't see his daddy in the morning, and with such an early bedtime, he won't see him much in the evening either. I guess time will tell whether that will be an issue or whether this morning was a fluke.
Anyway, Timothy had a great first day, consisting of an all day orientation to prepare him for his first day of "real work" tomorrow. Everyone he met was nice and seemed like fun and he has a good feeling about how things will play out. If you're interested in more details than that, feel free to call or email Timothy (because I am lazy and being more specific requires energy that I am not willing to exert).
In the meantime, Alex and I will be acclimating to long days without Daddy, which neither of us are really looking forward to. The tentative plan now that Tim is working is to start looking for part-time daycare so that I can get back to design work in some capacity and Alex can start spending some time with kids his own age. I'll let you know how the search goes.
