Yet another appointment and still nothing significant to report. I am around 1+cm and maybe closer to 60% effaced, so there hasn't been a ton of progress since Monday. I am pleased to know that Alex is enjoying his pimped-out bachelor pad so much that he is reluctant to leave it. While I was at the clinic, they performed a non-stress test that indicated that he is quite comfortable in there and that there is really no reason to force him out at this point. Although I am very anxious to meet him and move to the next phase of this baby-having process, I am still in no hurry to unnecessarily rush things and risk complications.
We had such high hopes for Alex's arrival this week that, in addition to Dad and Rachel, Tim's family came to town yesterday afternoon to be here "just in case" we decided to induce. Unfortunately, the postponement meant that Dad, Rachel, and the Evans crew had to head back to their respective homes for the time being. We have scheduled another appointment for Monday morning at 11:15 to check my progress and decide what to do, so everyone will probably return Monday-ish, with hopes that Alex will be arriving soon after.
According to Mari, little Alex's lease will expire once I've reached 42 weeks, so at least there is an end in sight. Even if it does mean that little Alex will have to be evicted...
