Conversatin', Crawlin', and Playin' with Pooh

With Tim and I being under the weather the last couple of days (yes, I have caught the plague and it's the pits), we have not ventured out much and we have both been attempting to remain at arm's length from Alex in an attempt to avoid further cootie infestation. So he's been forced to entertain himself within the confines of the house, which has done wonders for his development. What I'm trying to say, folks, is...IT'S OFFICIAL! ALEX IS CRAAAAAAWLING! He's been practicing pretty hard the last couple of days and has been making progress, but tonight, the hard work paid off. I caught just a tiny example on the camera before A went to bed, and hopefully I can get some more extensive footage tomorrow. (p.s. you have to watch the whole thing to get the "Playin' with Pooh" reference. How ya like them apples?)

The last few days have also brought about another new development, what the experts refer to as "jabbering". It's basically combining syllables and attempting to imitate adult speech patterns. It ends up sounding like Japanese speech patterns coming from a seven month old, but hey, the experts say it's progress. Anyway, he's done it some in the past, but not to the extent that we've seen during the past few days. Oh, and now, he talks with his hands, too.

Can't wait to see what he comes up with next week. By then he should be able to cook us dinner and, hopefully, pitch in a blog post now and then. Geez, kid, it's high time you earned your keep...

Well, after Poppa and I quit fighting over the computer to see who would watch it first, we decided we would watch it together. Then we cheered and laughed and said we knew he could do it and oh my, the fun only now begins!!!!!!!! Great video and loved the talking at the end. What a great Valentine present to everyone. We love you Alex, Sarah, Timothy and Murph.

One more thing. Ugh, for someone who loves to speak so openly about body parts, Timothy, what is that your son is doing?

OHHHH!!! Congrats to our little road runner!!! Good luck keeping up with him now. I understood every word he said too. And yeah...he is SUCH a BOY! Can't wait to hug and hold him...if I can catch him!
Happy Valentine's Day!

LOVE those videos. Cracks me up how uncomfortable Tim is with him touching his diaper :) Come on, Tim - he's a boy, and all he's interested in is the picture on his diaper. Jeez. Get your head out of the gutter :) Love, love, love the Japanese jibber jabber - that was so cute. I bet you guys just can't get enough. And congrats on the crawling!!! We love you all.
