Lotta Boobies

We had the first of two breastfeeding classes last night, which was riveting, as you can imagine. The session lasted from 6:30 to 9:00, which means that by the end of next week, we will have spent a grand total of five hours discussing the various methods, positions, undergarments, devices, dos, don'ts, benefits, and disadvantages of breastfeeding. Who knew there was so much you had to know to be able to feed a baby "naturally". Something tells me the Aborigines had no idea what a breast pump is or how to correctly place a Boppy, and somehow they still figured out how to feed their young. Anyhoo, despite my cynicism, we did get some good information and had some good laughs watching uncomfortable husbands fumble with the clasps on hammock-sized maternity bras.

Tonight my folks come in town with...drumroll please...my custom built changing table!!! I'm pretty excited as I have yet to see a picture of the finished product. Although it won't technically be "finished" as mom and I will still need to paint/stain it and we'll have to decide whether we want to keep it in three individual pieces or treat it as a single unit. I'll be sure to post a pic when it's done.

Saturday I will be attending Robin's shower, which I am really looking forward to, and Sunday will be my shower, which I'm really, really looking forward to. Mom will get to go and meet everybody she hears and reads about all the time, as will Vicki and Leah. Such a fun Girls' Day Out it will be!!
